The Bambino's bigger sibling with better thermal stability.
The Duo Temp Pro sits in an odd spot — more expensive than the Bambino but without the Bambino Plus's auto milk frothing. What you get instead is a larger footprint with better thermal stability, a PID-controlled thermocoil, and the same solid 54mm portafilter system. The pre-infusion is excellent and the steam wand is powerful for its class. Where it wins over the Bambino is consistency over back-to-back shots — the larger thermal mass handles multiple drinks without temperature surfing. If you're making 3-4 drinks in a row regularly, that matters.
The JX-S's 48mm burrs grind faster than the Timemore, which matters when you're making multiple drinks. The external adjustment ring makes it easier to find your setting again after cleaning.
You want the Sage ecosystem's reliability and pre-infusion quality, but you make multiple drinks in succession and need the thermal stability that the compact Bambino can't quite deliver. If you only make one or two drinks, save money and get the Bambino.
